Enjoy the scenery and Cool IT ... Meet the Domino A.L.C.
What we'll do is swiftly work through the components in the kit with the help of an extensive photo-shoot. We'll continue the photo shoot with a guide on how to install the components (CPU & kit ) into a PC up to the point where we have finalized and finished everything.
It's 2009 and you've been reading Guru3D.com for a while now, right? Then you must know I originally was not a huge fan of using water inside a PC. It was scary considering you have conductive fluid inside an electrical system .. but I've seen the light and have since converted into a believer. Praise the water.
All the primary systems in my office are equipped with a water-cooling solution. I kid you not, even all our test systems. Why you ask? Oh, just the noise level and the extraordinary cooling effect it has on components. In the previous segment we discussed the basics of cooling. Right now we'll slowly dive into a photo shoot and emerge again later with a performance overview.
The Domino A.L.C. CPU cooler is CoolITs attempt to introduce a good performance water cooler to the masses for as little money as possible. Domino A.L.C.; A.L.C. stands for; "Advanced Liquid Cooling".
As you already guessed by now, this is a complete kit, that doesn't mean a lot of components though. It's a self-contained standalone unit that is easily placed inside your PC. Water-cooling, that means this kit has a 120mm fan, radiator, pump, cooling block, tubing and reservoir. All prefitted, and even pre-filled with coolant. It's doesn't stop there though, next to the regular items, you'll notice a stylish design. Embedded for example is a LCD display showing the pump and fan rotation, and also the coolant temperature. Even a little alarm is build in as protection against overheating. Actually, should a component of the ALC system fail, youll be warned by the very determined buzzer..
Next to that you'll spot a button, you can select three cooling modes. More on that during our photo-shoot though.
CoolIT Domino A.L.C. review A single self contained water-cooling based unit, that is very easy to install, looks downright sexy and even performs quite adequate as well. It almost sounds to good to be true at 79 USD right ? CoolIT definitely achieved to pull this one off and recently placed this product into the market. You know what? It's gonna be a hit for sure.
