Ever since its initial release, the Cooler Master CM 690 II series has been a hit from the get-go. If memory serves me right we reviewed the original Cooler Master CM 690 II model back in Q1 2010 already.
The chassis series is still going strong and Cooler Master decided to apply a few tweaks and release an updated model. Today we look at the new Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Black and White edition of the chassis.
Being labeled as the CM 690 II Advanced chassis two years ago, the chassis was a makeover of the reputable CM 690 series. The updated design was to be a little more sturdy and came in an all black design, which surely is a trend these days.
A new trend as of late is using a two tone colored chassis, black and white is a new trend which started with the Corsair Graphite Series 600T White Edition.
The new updated Advanced model has a few other tweaks as well, as next to the seductive black/white interior, additional capacity, superb cooling system and user-friendly design there is a new front panel as well, this time around with USB 3.0, of course.
There are plenty of drive bays and thus there is storage space available, four 5.25 inch for ODDs (optical disk drives) or accessories, and 6 hidden, + one exposed 3.5 inch for HDDs (hard disk drives). Cooler Master also include a 1.8/2.5-inch adapter for solid state drives or particularly small SATA HDDs.
Before we start off with the review, please bear in mind that this chassis (Cooler Master CM 690 II Advanced Black & White) won't start selling until March 2012 at a price of roughly 99.95 Euro / $129.80.
But hey, have a peek and then head on over to the next page please, for what is the most difficult to photograph chassis evah.
