The Verdict
We already stated in our reference review that the GeForce GTX 280 really is a beast, BFG is upping it a notch by giving it a petite overclock. Though the results are really too small to notice I simply say, every bit helps. The OC version of BFG's line of products simply offer some extra's, extra's that I respect very much. See, the simple stuff like a HDMI adapter, HDMI cable .. it all counts in my book, supplements that others do not include.
The real value of the BFG OC products are to be found in after-sales though. I mean the extensive life-time warranty in the use, and 10 years outside the USA .. that's just golden. Very few manufacturers offer you this kind of support. And especially with an expensive high-end part like tested today, it's good to know you back is covered should god forbid something happen to the product. The fun thing is, it'll cost you only like 10 USD extra. That's a small price to pay for that warranty you guys.
So that's great additional service. I do want to mention the step-up program in the conclusion as well. BFG recently introduced it and though really interesting, it's doubtful that you'd step-up to something else. I mean what else is there to be found after the GeForce GTX 280 eh ? Hmm .. GeForce GX2 280 ? ;)
So then, if you have a stack load of cash to spend then undoubtedly this is by far the best and fastest singe GPU based graphics card that money can buy. High price or not, some fortunate people will buy this product anyway, though 650 USD is just well .. a sick amount of cash to spend just to be able to play games, really.
The BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC is a disproportionate fast graphics card, achieves extremely high framerates in combo with the best image quality settings, it incorporates Purevideo high-definition decoding and then of course the new features we can find under CUDA. And though CUDA applications still are work in progress, I bet that soon we'll see heaps of software applications that is going to make use of that GPU -- a truly nice development.
Rounding it up, the GeForce GTX 280 OC that BFG offers is a frickin beast that cranks up the performance ladder another notch or two. Additional value is to be found in the slightly higher overclock and far-fetched warranty. Though something as simple as including a HDMI cable, just brings a smile to my face as well. It's good to see that stuff, and exactly where BFG rocks, hey it's built for gamers.
The BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC is just is a top-notch product. We had no stability issues, had a breathtaking gaming experience and though I can write this last line way too long, let me keep it simple .. the BFG GeForce GTX 280 OC is a pure gaming nirvana.

BFG GeForce GTX 280 OCX review
OCX is short for 'Overclocking eXtreme' and it literally boils down to the fact that this is BFG's most high-end specced product in whatever the product range might be. Today we take the fastest NVIDIA graphics card available on the planet. The GeForce GTX 280. A 1400 million transistor counting piece of merchandise that raises the bar of single-GPU graphics processing.
