Packaging

The packaging for the Essence One is heavy considering it’s smaller size, this is common in high end audio DAC where the unit contains a power transformer.  Let’s have a closer look at the Essence One packaging.

ASUS Essence One

Although the unit survived shipping without a scratch, the box did get a little beat up on the corners.  The front of the box contains the familiar tiger chime symbol which has become a symbol signifying the Xonar product line up.  The back of the package contains all the specifications and catch phrases to get the buyers excited to take a listen to this new product!

Let’s open the box and have a look at what we have here…

ASUS Essence One

The main unit is situated within the packaging and can be lifted out with the fabric loops on both sides. The outside packaging also has foam to protect the top of the unit from shocks and the E1 is also covered in plastic to keep the unit clean during shipping.

What’s in the box?

  • Essence One DAC/Amp
  • Driver CD
  • Quick Start Guide
  • AP Test Report
  • USB Cable
  • Power Cable
  • 6.3mm to 3.5mm Adapter

ASUS Essence One

ASUS included everything you need to get up and running in minutes with this no nonsense bundle.  You get the driver CD, quick start guide and the official AP test report of the devices measurements. The bundle also includes a power cable and USB cable the included adapter can be used for those with headphones that have 3.5mm jacks.

This is a pretty slick looking unit so let’s have a closer look and see what we have here.

ASUS Essence One review
The ASUS Essence 1 is easily one of the most anticipated products to come along in the PC audio community in quite some time as many seen it as ASUS moving out of the general audio market and taking a shot at entry into the true high end audio marketplace. Can this new product offer excellent sound quality, features demanded by the external audio market and all for a reasonable price?
