Auzentech has been developing an HDMI soundcard for quite a while and this new card is said to be loaded with features for any audio tasks. Today in the Guru3D audio lab, we have a brand spanking new Auzentech Home Theater HD 7.1. This ongoing one-upmanship between existing companies is what drives the soundcard market and ensures new products are higher quality and offers new and innovative features to the audio community. The HDMI standard is still considered new in the PC landscape, and while many GFX cards offer HDMI options for graphics the audio side of the standard has been ignored and is lacking. We are going to run this card through our extensive testing and measuring regimen to let our readers know exactly what you will be getting for your hard earned audio dollars.

Asus Xonar D2X Sound Card review

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 06/30/2008 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The Asus Xonar D2X is a high-end sound card without equal for your enthusiast-level PC. Behold its over-the-top looks, marvel at its no-holds-barred features, and be captivated by the sound it makes. The D2X isn't for everyone, it's expensive, it's a showboat, and it wants power. But, it is without equal. You may find better, but certainly not an equal.

CyberSnipa Sonar 5.1 Pro Surround Sound Headset

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 05/18/2008 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
CyberSnipa has its crosshairs on surround sound gaming headsets, but do they hit the mark? Yes and no is the definite answer. The Sonar 5.1 Pro Surround Sound Headset offers a decent all-in-one headset with 8 speakers, plush velvety comfort, and a USB connection. But it only offers mediocre sound quality.

Sound Blaster X-Fi Xtreme Audio PCIe

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 03/03/2008 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Bordering on false advertisement, Creative's latest X-Fi isn't an X-Fi at all, it's a new rev of the Audigy series using the X-Fi drivers and gliding on the PCI Express bus. The EAX gaming enhancements are gone, however, in favor of the more usable Crystallizer and CMSS3D functions. The X-Audio does provide a good value with decent performance, stability, and last but not least, is does sound good.

Turtle Beach Earforce HPA2 Surround Sound Headphones

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 10/25/2007 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Turtle Beach unleashes the Earforce HPA2 Surround Sound Headphones to gamers with lousy neighbors and a headphone fetish. With 5.1 surround, an independent amp, a microphone, quality construction, and decent comfort all combine to make an exceptionally complete package. A decidedly high-end product, the HPA2 are not cheap, but they do deliver. The only downside is that you still might have lousy neighbors.

Auzentech X-Fi Prelude 7.1 review

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 09/13/2007 01:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
A wunderkind with family troubles, Auzentech's X-Fi Prelude combines Creative's X-Fi with high-quality components to create an uber sound card that not only sounds good, it also plays good. But, the X-Fi Prelude also shares the X-Fi's drivers, which loosely translates into trouble.

Everglide s-500 Professional Gaming Headphones

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 12/17/2006 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
The Everglide s-500 Professional Gaming Headphones are big and scary. The understated sealed-back design offers good sound isolation and snappy sound, good for immersing you in the game, but they might be slightly uncomfortable for those with big ears like me. You also get a clip on microphone and a carry case for traveling to LAN events. But for $99 you might think twice, and I wouldn\'t blame you.

Auzentech X-Meridian 7.1 review

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 12/12/2006 02:00 PM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Auzentech's X-Meridian sound card is a high-end encoding sound card that's big on sound quality, featuring 8-channel 24 bit/192 KHz output, DTS and Dolby Digital Live encoding, and includes both coaxial and optical digitial output as well as input. This card will impress you with its sound quality, besting the X-Fi in everything but gaming. Put it in your computer and long live the king, baby.

The CoolerMaster Musketeer 3

The Musketeer 3 is CoolerMaster's foray into the bygone analog era passed. It puts the tube back into your computer, reviving the retro stereophonic sound. The Musketeer 3 is smooth, classy, and well made, but it also comes with a few flaws.

X-Fi Xtreme Music Sound Blaster review

Posted by: Brann Mitchell on: 10/19/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
Creative's entry level X-Fi turns out to be pretty killer. All new hardware, all new software, makes this thing all the better. Gone are the old annoyances of the Audigy series, replaced by the X-Fi, which isn't very annoying at all!

X-Fi Fatality FPS SoundBlaster review

Posted by: Hilbert Hagedoorn on: 08/22/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
With a product name reminding of Hi Fi which basically means an electronic system for reproducing high-fidelity sound (the reproduction of sound with little or no distortion), creative called their new gem "X-Fi" which is short for eXtreme Fidelity. As you'll find throughout the review, this is mostly true. The new series has some amazing new features and reproduces sound quality at the level you can find in a modern recording studio.

iRIVER H10

Posted by: phantom on: 04/22/2005 06:00 AM [ 0 comment(s) ]
After researching the product, going on forums and asking, I finally realized the player out there that did everything an IPod did plus more was none other than iRiver's H10. The H10 sports a 5GB hard disk, a 1.5" color LCD screen, FM tuner/recorder, Picture viewer, as well as a microphone. The player also comes in 4 different colors: "Lounge Grey", "Remix Blue", "Trance Red", and "Triple Platinum". The look of this player in my opinion destroys any competition on the market now, especially the IPod.

Creative Labs Gigaworks S750 7.1 Speakers

So 7.1 surround sound, do we really need to invest in it ? Ehm, no ... But I can tell you it does make a very nice difference over the traditional 5.1 setup for sure. I'll explain all that on this multi purpose speaker set later on when I will talk a little about my game/movie/music experiences in combination with the GigaWorks S750's.

iRiver H320 20GB multi-codec jukebox

The iRiver H320 is a 20GB portable music player. It isn't for everyone, but for those who have a little patients to master it functions, you'll end up loving it. The H320 does so much more than just music, though. You also get the FM tuner, text, and the ability to record from just about any source, from microphone to line-in. The H320 also features a brilliant 2.0" color display to view your JPEG's or BMP. Overall, it's fast and sexy, and definitely different. What more could you want?

In December something big was released by Creative labs. And the fun thing is .. almost all of you missed it didn't you? Really silently Creative Labs pushed forward a new soundcard under the label Audigy 4 You'd expect a big marketing campaign with bells and whistles and preferably gorgeous blonde women jumping up and down with the soundcard ... but that did not happen.

The glossy white and tasty style of I-Trigue L3450 satellite speaker incorporates a Lateral Firing Transducer (LFT), and 2 premium Titanium micro drivers, adding acoustic fidelity beyond ordinary desktop speakers. Combine that with the 30 Watt RMS subwoofer and you're in for some really nice desktop music, this dear Guru's is the I-Trigue L3450, we are reviewing the white version, of course there's a black version available also.
