The cooler uses three copper based (nickel plated) heatpipes of which two are arranged in a O-shape design. The pure copper fins (nickle plated) effectively disperse heat away from the CPU via composite heatpipes, while the fans quickly cools the heatsink for stable operation of high performance CPUs

When we flip it around we see the heatpipes a little more up-close. Again, Pure Copper/ Nickel Plated. The CNPS12X supports a broad range of sockets including Intels upcoming socket LGA2011 as well as all AMDs sockets. LGA2011/1366/1156/1155/775 and FM1/AM3+/AM3/AM2+/AM2 Despite its size the CNPS12X can be installed relatively easy in terms of needed space. A Mid -Tower chassis with its width is 180mm or wider is just fine.

The baseplate has a mirror washed finish, you can comb your in it as that is a near perfect  finish.
