Performance Wireless

On this page we'll again test in two stages. WAN to LAN. We measure throughput from client to client and on each machine we setup a RAMDISK on which we'll force a compressed file copy from one side to the other. We measure the peak bandwidth reached and measure at two distances, the first test is done at 10 meters distance and the second is 20 meters.

Above we measure the throughput of data-traffic at 10 meters distance from a laptop (Sony Vaio with excellent range WIFI antennas) towards the router which connects to a PC on the LAN side. The WLR-4000 definitely is a little below par here, especially for a 300 Mbit rated Wireless router.

Above we measure the throughput of data-traffic at 20 meters distance from a laptop towards the router which connects to a PC on the LAN side. The WLR-4000 definitely is behaving slightly better, but for the latest and greatest series ... we had hoped for better connectivity over what is supposed to be that 300 Mbit/sec connection.
