Samsung I9300 Galaxy S III - Upping it a notch.

Under the motto 'three times is a charm' Samsung releases their Samsung Galaxy S III smartphone. A launch that immediately got delayed somewhat due to an issue with the black/blue casing. Initially the Samsung Galaxy S III will be launched in white and in the upcoming weeks the black/blue model will become available as well. Later in the year more colors are planned from what we've heard.

The Galaxy II is a lovely equivalent to the Apple iPhone 4 and with the popularity that the Galaxy S II gained in the last year, there has been a lot of anticipation for the all new Galaxy S III --  it is the biggest Android release for Samsung in the history of the company.

The screen of the S3 is a McDonald's super sized 4.8" Big Mac that tops even the HTC Titan II, yes, the display screen is massive, just like the phone itself. But that equals and relates to a nice resolution as well, that resolution is 720p for the touch screen, that's HD ready.

The touch-sensitive controlled Super AMOLED capacitive touchscreen display carries 16M colors and outputs a display resolution of 720 x 1280 pixels along with a 306 Pixels per Inch density. The display uses a PenTile Matrix opposed to a conventional RGB matrix. Covered with Gorilla Glass 2 the screen is just awesome to look at and less reflective than the Samsung Galaxy S II.

When you open up the S3 you'll stumble into a 2,100mAh battery, that should help out a little with battery lifespan versus daily usage. You'll also spot two slots; a microSD and microSIM card slot.

Yes Sir, only the smallest SIM cards will fit. The S3 here in Europe comes with 1GB work memory and has optional internal storage in 16GB, 32GB and 64GB flavors. Obviously you can add up-to 64GB of extra storage space with a microSD card.

The S3 is paired with Android Ice Cream Sandwich and Samsung's latest TouchWiz interface that includes new ways to interact with the phone - S Voice (a direct Siri competitor you all know from the iPhone) You activate it by saying "Hi Galaxy!", there's a new feature called eye-tracking (Smart Stay) that will keep your phone active if you look directly at the display and sure, several other clever tricks are embedded into the smart phone.
