Visual Image Quality

Rise of the Tomb Raider looks good, sometimes even really good. Whether from far away or several times magnified with zoom, graphically the title looks great from almost every point of view. From the carefully designed scenery to the authentic-looking environment and playful subtle light-effects every detail is simply great. This is a DirectX 11 API class title. Square Enix has created a atmospheric place filled with good detail

At its core, Rise of the Tomb Raider is built on the in-house Foundation Engine that Crystal Dynamics has been iterating on for years now. Square Enix recommends an NVIDIA GTX970 or an AMD Radeon R9 290X with an Intel Core i7-3770 or an AMD FX-8350. We tend to agree.

PC Systems Requirements:

Minimum

  • OS: Windows 7 64bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i3-2100 or AMD equivalent
  • Memory: 6 (Six) GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GTX 650 2GB or AMD HD7770 2GB
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 25 GB available space

Recommended

  • OS: Windows 7 64bit
  • Processor: Intel Core i7-3770, 3.40GHz or AMD FX-8350 4.0Ghz
  • Memory: 8 (Eight) GB RAM
  • Graphics: NVIDIA GeForce GTX 970 or AMD Radeon R9 290x
  • DirectX: Version 11
  • Storage: 30 GB available space

Nvidia was dominantly on top of this title, HBAO+ shadows are suported as well as higher hardware tessellation and generic scene quality settings.
