BFG GeForce series 7 reviewAt long last fellow Guru's, I'm happy to say that we finally have established relations with BFG, and not in "that" way either. Over the years Guru3D.com has tried to include BFG in their product review line-up many times. The issue was that we are a Dutch based office where BFG focuses really hard on the USA market. That and living in a really small country made it hard for us to get the samples overseas. Luckily for us BFG have grown extensively and is currently one of the biggest players in the graphics industry.

So after a year or two trying we pretty much gave up on BFG product reviews, yet since BFG have grown they now have a PR spokesmen in the UK and that made my life a lot easier as a couple of weeks ago the phone rang and BFG actually asked why we were not reviewing their products! How ironic is that? Hey bring 'em on!

BFG: the geeks and hardware freaks among the Guru community will say, hey that's the company that makes really sweet NVIDIA graphics cards and Physics boards. The fraggers and LAN gamers among us would say .. BFG ? Big Frickin Gun ? BFG is arguably the most powerful weapon in the computer game Doom so see the link here ?

Fact is that BFG Technology currently is one of the biggest NVIDIA vendors as they are everywhere on this globe. And with that being said, allow me to introduce the first two BFG products that we'll review today.

If you read my articles on a regular basis then you've learned that in the mid-range section the most magic happens. Odd cooling solutions, faster memory, weird PCB designs, lower costs .This is the range that most people are able to afford and thus purchase a video card from this segment. Manufacturers fight against each other to offer you the best and fastest product for a good price. So this is also the segment where you'll see "special editions" of graphics cards and that's what we'll look at today. BFG manufactures the GeForce 7600 GT and 7900 GT but as trendy as it is ... they brand it as a special "OC" version. These are the pre-clocked (at default higher clocked then the reference cards from NVIDIA) on both the memory and graphics processor. So today we are looking at the BFG GeForce 7600 GT OC and also their GeForce 7900 GT OC. Both cards come with 256 MB memory and both cards produce a stack load of performance for your well spent bucks.
