PowerColor delivered some nice bundle/packaging with the Vega 56 Red Devil. Above, that evil looking carton.
The Radeon RX Vega 56 Red Devil from PowerColor has a three slot, three fan heat-pipe design cooler. It has two PCIe PEG power (8-pin) connectors. The card has been designed to be a nice match for gaming up-to 1080P, 1440P and for some games, even Ultra HD at 3840x2160 pixels. With 8GB graphics memory it is passing the GeForce GTX 1070 in most scenarios, that's not a bad position to be in. Obviously, there's more to check out other than performance, we'll have a peek at PCB heat levels, GPU temperatures, as well as noise levels in this review.
The Radeon RX Vega 56 is armed with 8GB HBM2 graphics memory which will be clocked at 800 MHz / 2048-bit (1.6Gbps HBM2) to give you a little more leash with the higher resolutions and image quality settings. The product runs standard at BIOS mode 2, and defaults to 1526 MHz available boost. The card itself is the familiar looking demonic looking solution.
The RX Vega 56 based product has been designed to be a match for at least the most popular Wide Quad HD resolutions. Actually, it places a strong focus on 1440P gaming. The reference board includes two HDMI (2.0b) and two DisplayPort 1.4 (HDR ready) connectors, lacking is a DVI connector which we're sure the AIB partners will embed. The Red Devil RX Vega 56 and 64 cards get extensive cooling, zero fan speed idle (branded “Mute Fan”), and sure, LEDs (albeit very few).
These are big cards at 12.4 inches (316mmx150mmx55mm) in length. The cooler reveals two 8mm and four 6mm heat pipes. This all custom card features a 12 phase power design with what PowerColor refers to as being a "Platinum PowerKIT" VRM design. The TDP is not disclosed, however, Tul recommends a 750W power supply.
