The Verdict

Alright, this was a quicky mini-review to be honest. I just love how flash-memory has grown in the past years, it's development is really explosive. I can't wait to have a large enough SSD drive at one point; aah the sheer silence.

The ATV flash drive features a durable and rather colorful rubber tread housing, which (as we proved) is a weatherproof storage solution to keep digital files safe in any conditions, even submerged in water.

The OCZ ATV Turbo flash-disk is one of the many flash-memory drives out there. This however is a 4GB version, and you can quickly transport data from point A to B at very nice read/write speeds. Although we did not achieve the write speeds as advertised I'd say it's a fast disk none-the-less. The read speeds are short from amazing at 30+ MB/sec thanks to the usage of dual channel memory. The shock and water-resistance obviously are marketing spins as otherwise, this would just be one of the many USB flash-disks out there.

Fun stuff for sure, and at 4GB extremely handy. If you are not using it, you can use it as a ReadyBoost disk on Vista, which is great, yet to date I still haven't really noticed the benefit of ReadyBoost anyway. Expect a sales price around 50 USD for this product, and it'll be available in a 2, 4 and 8 GB version and comes with a lifetime warranty.
