Product Installation

Opposed to the easy to install X42/X62/X72, the M22 gets a mounting solution that is a bit more complicated than needed. Take the backplate, push through the pins, and then at the rear side again four screws need to be mounted.

For Socket 115x (Intel) that will look something like the above. I am a bit baffled as to why this mounting kit is introduced as the original Kraken X series one is far handier.

Now you prepared the backplate, nuts need to be aligned with the holes by shifting them into position. You can and should position the backplate 100% similar to shown above, that's the only right way.

You should have already inserted your processor, applying thermal paste is not needed as the kit comes with TIM applied already to the cooling block. With the backplate in place, we now install four standoff studs on which the entire block will be secured with spring based screws. Before you seat the cooling block one tip, sort your wiring. Especially that USB connector can be blocked by say a heatsink or something. So define in what angled position you want to block to rest. I advise to plugin your wiring already and then seat it.

Once we seat the cooler in the position it aligns up with four spring based thumb-screws. Honestly, I didn't like this procedure as you have to apply an incredible amount of force onto the screws. With the help of a screwdriver secure the four thumbscrews. Turn them tight until they can't go any further, we now positioned the cooler and are almost ready for the first test run.
