NZXT CAM

NZXT CAM Software

As you have noticed, the chassis comes with its own smart controller unit. In our initial review, we had a massive issue with it. After a firmware flash, the unit died. Now a little while later we received a new unit and can show you the software and hardware actually in working order. The CAM software remains overly complicated with far too many features. Really, you want to control your fans and lighting, the should be stripped away. You may also expect NZXT trying to force you to login to Facebook or an NZXT account. The software WIL share data. We wish NZXT would go back to the roots with this software.

Once you load up the CAM software, you might get a software update or firmware update. Once finished after a restart you should be able to reach your gear. The NZXT 700i FANs and RGB unit is already connected to the controller. In the screenshot above you can see the three fans (we only connected fan 3 btw).

Each fan can be set up individually with fixed, silent or performance modes.

As you can see, this system also has a Kraken LCS active, but at the Lighting: Smart device segment you can click on one of the programmable and addressable RGB channels.

Once you have done that, you can choose lighting preference. Options are plentiful, animations or fixed in any color you like. Overall what I have been showing you on this page really is all that CAM software needs and should have. The rest, which I will not even name, is redundant and can be missed.
