The award-winning Battlefield franchise invades the high tech frontlines of modern warfare in the new sequel, Battlefield 2. The game brings the intensity and excitement of Battlefield 1942 into the modern era with enhanced team play and the latest, most technologically advanced vehicles and weapons systems available to man.

This game is slowly getting outdated, yet so many of you including yours truly still adore the game. I just love what this game can do in terms of gameplay and image quality. We use FRAPS to measure the performance and by use of the game command prompt remove a nasty framerate cap.

As you can see, high-resolution monitors are preferred when you plan 3-way SLI. 3-way SLI is downright owning the overall score in places where the other graphics cards run out of juice. The word "bitchslap" does come to mind here.

Mind you that in a later article we'll be adding two-way SLI results from other cards as well. We just had no time to do this ...

Gaming: Call of Duty 4

Activision recently released Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, the next installment in the popular war game series. Moving away from the World War II setting, Modern Warfare instead centers around a conflict involving Russia and the Middle East. And hey, you even get to die .. and then continue the game in the past.

For this benchmark we use disguise ourselves in the Ghillie suit, load up ACT II - All Ghillied up. I just love the game, and played it to the end completely already. This particular level I liked the most. Not just for gameplay, yet also the intense and dense graphics utilized are breathtaking. Massive texturing, shaders and a serious amount of shadows are applied in this level to mask and hide as best as you can.

Yes .. "Oh My Funky Gawd", it seems that modern titles have been optimized very much for 3-way SLI. We just started using this software to benchmark though, therefore only the results of a hand full of cards where available.

But still, bloody hell ... that's steep, isn't it ?
