MSI GeForce GTX 680 TwiNFrozr III OC

So above we have the MSI GeForce GTX 680 Twinfrozer III OC edition. A familiar looking card as the cooler is being used on many of MSI's graphics cards. Let's look at the card from several different viewpoints. The GTX 680 card is quite good looking with the black colored monitor connectors and then that dual fan Twinfrozer III cooler.

The card is equipped with the GK104 GPU that harbors the new Kepler architecture we will talk  about in the next chapters.

The card will come with two GB of graphics memory, that's definitely enough if you are a hardcore gamer with a monitor resolution of 1920x1200. If you plan to game on triple monitors then later on a 4 GB model might become an option as well, that would definitely help you out in the uber high resolutions and hefty AA combinations.

These cards are PCI Exprress gen 3.0 compatible. Going from PCIe Gen 2 to Gen 3 doubles the bandwidth available to the add-on cards installed, from 500 MB/s per lane to 1 GB/s per lane. NVIDIA still has to unlock this feature at driver level though.

Above the packaging so you know what to look for in the stores. Clearly visible is that NVIDIA has a say in the design with the stamped now style GTX 680 logo.

The GeForce GTX 680 is a good looking cards and NVIDIA will definitely pimping themselves if you have an chassis with side window. The card is 26 cm in length by the way. Included are the regulars like the card, manual, driver/afterburner CD and a power connector converter (should you need it).
