MSI GTX 680 Lightning

Of course multi-GPU gaming is always a viable option. Like any high-end GeForce graphics card, NVIDIA will allow you to opt for the multi-GPU road as you may pair multiple cards in one PC.

The GeForce GTX 680 has a maximum board power consumption of 195 Watts, you'll need to power the card with two 8-pin PCIe PEG lead from your power supply. We recommend a 550~600 power supply to start with, with one card of course. MSI has it's own custom PCB and does not use the stacked connector design NVIDIA is using on their reference boards.

At the rear of the card we see three sets of voltage monitor connectors.

If you use the included the voltage monitor cables then you can connect a digital multi meter to them, here we tap the GPU running at 1.08 Volts.

Two 10 cm fans generate massive airflow for heat dissipation while remaining silent (at it's default clocks) The two form-in-one heat sinks improve cooling for memory and the power supply module as well ensure structural integrity. Some of the heatpipes are 8mm thick, others 6mm. Recently introduced is Dust Removal Technology. Fans are running in reverse for 30 seconds after booting to remove dust from the heat sinks.
