Final Words & Conclusion

The Verdict

The Mionix NAOS 5000 game mouse is one of nearly too many gaming mouses out there. It does however rank itself high and can be positioned in the more high-end segment, totally catering to the real hardcore gamers our there. The mouse is not just aesthetically pleasing, it's ergonomically pleasing as well. It fits really well in your hand, though might be seen as a little bulky. So if you are not a kid or someone with small hands, this one will definitely work out for you.

You know you can reinvent a mouse over and over again, 200, 400, 1600 and these days even 5000 DPI are mostly marketing and niche options. I like the non-BS approach the Naos 5000 seems to have. It's straightforward, does everything you need during desktop work and gaming, has easy to use DPI switching and most of all it is a mouse that handles really well, if you are a righty that is.

If you like to go more advanced... then sure... go to the Mionix website and grab the profile software. The Naos 5000 has got seven (count 'em) programmable buttons if you want options and you can configure the mouse in-depth all based on your personal preferences. The software allows everything to be configured that you can desire, profiles, macros, scan speeds, even the LED color, DPI sensitivity per profile per axis and on and on.

Overall we feel the Naos 5000 is an excellent gaming mouse. It feels good, nice options, great tracking speed. As such it's recommended.guru3d-recommended_150px.jpg The one real quirk however is its price, currently you need to chunk out a steep 65 EUR, and quite honestly we feel that any mouse over 50 EUR is simply overpriced. The NAOS 5000 is in the same price range as say Razer, and based on reputation alone people will have to choose in-between two brands that offer roughly the same for the same amount of money... they will often choose the more well known brand.

So yeah, it remains to be an impressive flexible mouse... though with with a steep price tag. Given the sheer ergonomics, good looks and versatility we would definitely like to recommend the NAOS 5000. Thanks go out to fabacom.nl distribution for supplying this sample.
