Final Words & Conclusion

Chillaxing ... I find the KFA2 GeForce GTX 570 MDT X4 chill and relaxing product -- and that's not even for the multi-display functionality. The reality with multi-display gaming is simple, with the proper resolution you can game in a high spanned resolution. The new titles however will run out of air real fast with the one GPU. Older titles will often run fine, yet quickly can run into unsupported resolution issues.

Ironically though, we had to limit testing towards 2 screens as after a full workday of trying to solve an issue we learned the hard way that the card really disliked our 1920x1200 LCD screens. Here's the big deal, if you want a three monitor setup spanned at (3x) 1920x1080 (5760x1080) they will have to support 50Hz (follow the included instructions closely), you WILL need to make a custom resolution within the NVIDIA driver for that. So that is a compromize really. Using for example three 1280x1024 or say 1680x1050 / 1600x1200 monitors however should not be an issue, even at 60 Hz. That's as simple as selection the resolution and you ar on your way.

Next to the nice looks there's that other fact as well, it is a factory overclocked product, clocked significantly higher. That by itself caters that very a-typical audience, the folks that just do not want to overclock themselves yet do yearn for the additional performance. You install the card in and bam ... you gain extra performance. The core clock is set at 800 MHz for you. Grab some popular overclock software, increase the GPU voltage towards 1.1 volts and yeah, you'll even pass 900 MHz if you are willing to overclock manually.

The reality here (and i want to state it) is that a reference card can be tweaked/overclocked manually at this level perfectly fine as well, even at default GPU voltages. But again, there are a lot of people that hate to overclock themselves, and that's where the pre-OC products come into play.

There are just no real concerns with the GTX 570 MDT X4 from KFA2. The temperatures are good, better than reference while being pre-overlocked. The product remains reasonably silent enough (could be better under load though) and it surely offers more than plentiful game rendering performance for any game to date and then some more. High resolutions are not an issue, and combined with even the most stringent Antialiasing and image quality settings your are very safe up-to a monitor resolution of 1920x1200. Gaming in MDT mode .. we really do think a 2nd GPU would be a requirement and once you opt that, you really could use any brand GTX 570 as two cards will always support NVIDIA's surround view mode. Of course if you would use three 1280x1024 or 1680x1050 monitors, then that might work out in your favor in terms of GPU performance.

So let me sum things up, the GeForce GTX 570 is just a lovely graphics card to play any game to date on. You flick on high image quality settings and can play brilliantly at say 1920x1200 with everything cranked open image quality wise.

The baseline performance level of the DirectX 11 class GeForce GTX 570 card has gotten a little better with this version, it will likely attract a lot of you guys and gals. If you can find it at the right price then we without any hesitation, would like to recommend the card to you. Please do make sure you have a PC to match a card of this caliber, any decent mid-range processor from the last two years will do fine and make sure you have a power supply of 500 Watts or better. Oh, on that topic, power consumption might still be a little bit on the high side but remember, all other variables are right, heat, noise, performance and features.

KFA2 puts a grand product on the market. It could have been a little more silent, but well ... it's just not a biggy. The added features like the four DVI connectors and one HDMI connector, bring more niche to the product. MDT functions well, given the restriction we set out. For desktop mode it's of course bloody brilliant as well, imagine editing a movie with Adobe Premiere on four screens, it's that kind of stuff that becomes a reality.

The pre aka factory overclock is absolutely lovely and gives the card a little more booty, in fact it's flirting with the GTX 580 continuously. That's done right really. You just install it and play your games at really excellent framerates. Combine that with the overall looks and as far as I am concerned this card is very much recommended. We do hope to see much better availability here in Europe though, KFA2 is a brand that certainly deserves better channel integration, which is a hard thing to accomplish in the EU as it seems.

Did you hear that ... distributors ? They got products people seriously like to purchase ...

Hilbert signing off, peeaaaaace.
