KFA2 GeForce GTX 460 1024MB EX OC and LTD OC review -
Introduction

The launch of NVIDIA's GeForce GTX 460 series graphics cards certainly has been a very successful one. The eagle has landed twice with two new SKUs (768MB/1024MB), and it surely is a product that a lot of you guys have been waiting on. In its baseline configuration these products are just good. However, for the first time in a rather long time NVIDIA allowed its partners to customize the PCB, cooler and clock frequencies at launch time. The board partners have been complaining about that stringent grip of NVIDIA on the board designs for a long time now, and the minute we see a launch with customized board partner SKUs, the minute the launch is a success.
KFA2, jumps onto the successful GTX 460 series as they smack down four boards on the table. Two of them have 1 GB of GDDR5 graphics memory and a memory bus-width of 256-bits, whereas the other two obviously have 'only' 768 MB of memory and an interface of 192-bits. All of them are factory overclocked, but the Super OC Editions are the real beasts of the series.
This new brand in the European market have released a new series of graphics cards in Europe under the label KFA2 Kick Friggin Ass. KFA2 is a premium line of graphics cards, keep an eye and an ear out for that as this really will be an interesting brand which we will follow closely.
KFA2 is the European premium brand of Galaxy, nothing to hide, proud to be a part of it.
Our aim is to be the extreme version of the already well established, tried and tested manufacturing facility that for over 16 years has produced cards for a number of graphics companies and now has its own brand.
KFA2 exists for 2 main reasons:
1. To bring the best quality and performing products to market
2. KFA2 is going to Kick Friggin Ass and take names later!KFA are a sole European focused brand, providing European based support, warehousing and RMA facilities. Our primary goal is to provide products based upon two key elements "Performance and Quality" with peace of mind, knowing that all support related services are located within Europe.
Why we are different?
- We produce and manufacture our own Graphics Cards
- We only use non-reference fans and non-reference PCBs
- Overclocked products as standard offering
- European only brand
- European Support Facilities
- Backed by GALAXY who have been established since 1994.
The what is considered 'more regular' GeForce GTX 460 EX OC editions have the GPU running at 700 MHz instead of just 675 MHz, as well as shader clocks at 1,400 MHz (stock is 1,350 MHz) and memory at 3,696 MHz.
The GeForce GTX 460 LTD OC on the other hand, flex the GPU muscle all the way up toward a semi at 810 MHz, with the shaders at 1,620 MHz and the GDDR5 at 4,000 MHz (effective). Armed with a 2-year limited warranty KFA2 are trying real hard to not only bring a nice custom board to the market, but also want to be the fastest of them all.
So two products:
- GeForce GTX 460 D5 EX OC which is KFA2's "regular" product at 700 MHz.
- GeForce GTX 460 D5 LTD OC which is KFA's Super overclocked product at 810 MHz.
We will test both the EX OC and LTD OC versions today, here at Guru3D.com -- where you are always in for a trick and a treat. Have a peek first though.
