Inno3D GeForce GT 210 and 220 review -
VGA performance: Mass Effect (DX9) | BIA Hell's Highway (DX9)
Gaming: Mass Effect
Controversial, and definitely one of the bigger titles of 2008. Mass Effect from BioWare. Originally released for the XBOX 360, it unveiled a vast, beautiful galaxy populated by diverse, fascinating alien races. Players stepped onto this stage as Commander Shepard, a hero at the vanguard of humanity's ascension in the arena of galactic politics, and thus began an epic story bolstered by engaging characters and rich, branching dialogue.
Set 200 years in the future in an epic universe, Mass Effect places gamers in a vast galactic community in danger of being conquered by a legendary agent gone rogue. A spectacular new vision from legendary developers BioWare, Mass Effect challenges players to lead a squad of freedom fighters as they struggle against threatening armies to restore peace in the universe.
I started playing this game last year when released, it's rare for me... but I spent all my free time on it and finished the game. What a great title Mass Effect is. It shows really awesome graphics, complex facial animations and applies a noise filter just to get you that really nice cinematic feeling. Overall one of the better games I've played in 2008. Definitely pick it up.
Mass Effect Settings:
- Noise Filter on
- Textures: Extreme high
- Filter: Anisotropic
- Everything maxed out
Hmm, nope .. neither of the cards really does well in mass Effect. You'll have to force image quality down to very low class setting in order to achieve an acceptable framerate.
Brothers in Arms: Hell's Highway
Hell's Highway, another WWII shooter some might say. But in reality the setting of war is really just a vehicle for Gearbox to tell the storyline of a Band of Brothers led by you, Sergeant Matt Baker, as they deal with the madness and consequences of war. The game tells the story of Operation Market Garden in the country where yours truly lives, in the Netherlands (aka Holland). It's about the besieged journey from Eindhoven to Arnhem where tremendous battles were fought.
Exactly that road, Highway 69; the road from Eindhoven to Arnhem was later nicknamed: Hell's Highway.
One of the most impressive details is that the area of Operation Market Garden was completely reconstructed using historical documents and images. It's uncanny to see and experience the design of 1944 Holland. Even now in 2008 you can still see striking similarities from our country. Street signs, building structures, clothing and even the clinker bricks on the roads dispense a true authentic mood. This reviewer is Dutch, so what level would be more appropriate than one of the starting levels, in a field in the Netherlands, moving towards a large windmill ahead of us. Lots of geometry is to be found here, and in fact one of the more complex scenes to render for the GPU. Yes, welcome to Holland.
- Texture Quality HIGH
- Shadow Texture Quality HIGH
- Shadow Detail HIGH
- Vsync OFF
Released last year and still on top of my list. Now we do have all the eye candy enabled in BIA. But sure, even for the GT 220 I expected a little more spunk from the card in BIA. 1280x1024 is do-able .. but barely.
Using a GT210 once again is pointless.
In this article we review the beast, the GTX 770 HerculeZ X3 Ultra from Inno3D is locked and loaded with the mighty HerculeZ X3 cooler, that's three slots wide but keeping the GPU under 55 Degrees C and completely silent. Pure awesomeness. That's not all though, it is factory overclocked for you at a very high level but even so can be tweaked quite a bit further.

Inno3D GeForce GTX 580 OC review
We review the Inno3D GeForce GTX 580OC. Despite a very high price tag the product seems to become a nice success. As such directly at launch several models based of this SKU where already announced, e.g. the regular clocked models, factory higher clocked models, liquid cooled models. This OC edition, in particular this is a reference GeForce GTX 580 that has been clocked faster to 820 MHz on the core where it also welcomes a nice bump on the overall memory frequency.
