DirectX 12: graphics card performance Full HD & WHQD & UHD

DirectX 12 graphics card performance

In the initial release DX12 was broken, yet later on added. This week the second episode based in the Medeterranean setting of Sapienza was released. it however invokes another issue woth DX12 and GeForce graphics cards.

After the update you'll notice that radeon card work great with the latest AMD Radeon Software Crimson 16.4.2 driver. The GeForce card however have issues as the start time for the game takes forever. It takes so long that you'd expect it is not working, hoever after a minute or 4 the game suddenly kicks in and can be benchmarked.

The results for GeForce cards (GeForce 364.72 WHQL driver) are pretty dramatic (we tried multiple drivers), even lower than DX11. The Radeon do not really seem to benefit either. Below the results for the three dominant resolutions.

If you try DX12 mode on a GeForce, once you start the game or benchmark simply wait ... it can take 5 minutes before the bechmark sequence or the game itself starts. We have to say that we are incredible dissapointed about the quality control on DX12 from the developper. These things just shouldn't happen. Very sloppy.
