There she is, the Radeon X1950 Pro with ICeQ3 cooler from HiS which is armed with 256 MB gDDR3 memory. It's has quite some horsepower for a card in this price-range. This card weighs easily a pound [454grammes - Ed]. Next to that it has a two slot cooling solution due to the IceQ3 cooler.

Don't know why, but each time I leave out a photo of the backside of the card people start email me and ask why I did not include it. Okay .. I listen to you guys. Obviously when you look at the PCB you can notice the reference design as specified by ATI.

It's a pretty thing to look at isn't it ? But wouldn't it be cool if we HiS would change the PCB color to black ? BTW what you can't see very well is that the card needs to be connected to a 6-pin power connector, which all modern PSU's have. You'll very likely receive a molex to 6-pin converter cable in the box though as it is not a wide standard just yet. You connect it at the rear end in the middle where the 6-pin connector is located.

The X1950 series of products have at least two DVI connectors, which both have dual-link support.
Single link connections use one TMDS 165Mhz transmitter, while dual links use two. So you can hook up two extremely high resolution monitors at once to the card. You might think hmm is that needed? Yes it is. High-Def screens and high-resolution monitors are lurking around the corner.

Dual link DVI pins effectively double the power of transmission and provide an increase of speed and signal quality; i.e. a DVI single link 60-Hz LCD can display a resolution of 1920 x 1080, while a DVI dual link can display a resolution up-to 2560x1200. All cards have two DVI connectors except the 1300 series which has a CRT/VGA connector.

Manufacturers however will be allowed to make their own choice in the connectors though.
