So today marks the first in a series if HiS reviews. As you all know, we have been testing their gear for a long time now and we do that for a good reason. HiS deserves this kind of media attention. They deliver high-quality products based on graphics cards from ATI which are all very stable and overclockable (and if you chip in a couple of bucks more they come equipped with any of the three forms of their IceQ cooling solution). Today's tested product is the mighty Radeon X1900 XT which comes with the new IceQ3 cooling solution. We'll show you all that over the upcoming pages.

What I also wanted to insert into the prologue is that over the next couple of months we'll be shifting a little with our benchmarks. We made a methodology to be able to use the FRAPS FPS measuring tool quite a lot better. This allows us to slowly integrate newer gaming titles into our benchmark suite. A good example; today we'll include the benchmark results from that mighty title Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter. By using FRAPS we can offer you a decent selection in the newer titles.

Right - let's get this review started. Over the next few pages we'll talk quickly about the new X1900 products, do a recap on the memory controller, talk features and specifications but most of all have a look at performance. You're visiting Guru3D.com so we have plenty of benchmarks - and yes, we'll compare this product to hottest GeForce, the 7900 GT(X). Of course we recently introduced HD gaming resolutions at 19x12 so you'll notice some performance testing at such a level as well.

New additions in our benchmark test suite will be X3: Reunion, F.E.A.R., HL2: Lost Coast and, as previously mentioned, Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter, all tested up-to high-definition 1920x1200 resolutions.
