Technical characteristics

As always, very important for any LCD monitor are it's technical characteristics. You look at it much more often than you show it to others. Let's see what we have in the Hercules Prophetview 920:

  • Size (Viewable Diagonal): 17'' (43.2cm) 337x270mm

  • Display Type: Color TFT LCD Active Matrix

  • Recommended Resolution: SXGA, 1280x1024

  • Viewing Angles: Horizontal: 170°/Vertical: 150°

  • Brightness (Typical): 250cd/m²

  • Contrast Ratio (Typical): 430:1

  • Response Time: 20ms (Rising: 5ms/Descending: 15ms)

  • Flat Cabinet Screen: 28mm depth

  • Color: Jet Black

  • Control Management: Titanium Buttons (Digital Controls)

Auto Adjustment Screen

  • Image 720 x 400 (DOS): 70 Hz

  • 640 x 480: 60 Hz, 72 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz

  • 800 x 600: 60 Hz, 72 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz

  • 1024 x 768: 60 Hz, 72 Hz, 75 Hz, 85 Hz

  • 1280 x 1024: 60 Hz, 70 Hz, 75 Hz

As you can see with a response time of 20ms, Hercules has a very fast LCD on the market. A 20-ms monitor will display 1/0.020: 50 dark and then light images per second which is a total of 100 images per second.

The contrast ratio for the Pro model also is bright at 430:1, very nice.

In the box we'll find nothing too special in terms of the bundle. A Prophetview 920 Pro, User Manual (CD), Euro+UK+Swiss AC adapters (Europe version) / US+Australia AC Adapters (US+Australia version).

Okay okay, a bit messy to look at ..

Hercules DJ Console review
Most of us can't afford expensive mixing and DJ consoles, turntables, and CD-Players that can handle BPM. But we all do have a fast PC and a crapload of MP3's right ? So all you need is a device that controls the PC and MP3's and that's exactly what the Hercules DJ Console does, basically a mix-console with built in soundcard.
