5. How often do you update/buy a new rig?
I usually tend to buy a new rig every Year, last time I only did an update/upgrade to the PC though. I wanted a core i7 system. So I bought the Asus rampage extreme 2, a I920 that runs at 4 GHz (woohooo) and 3 gig corsair dominator memory with 8-8-8-24 latency.
6. What components are used?
- Coolermaster Cosmos S
- Dark power pro 1000 W
- Asus Rampage Extreme 2
- Core i7 920 clocked at 4 Ghz 24/7
- 2 X Point of View GTX 280 (SLI)
- WD VelociRaptor 300 Gig
- 2 X Samsung spinpoint F1 1 TB
- Thermochill 360 rad
- Laing pump
- Swiftech Apogee GTZ cpu Block
- Tygon and some nasty Red fluid from Feser 1

7. Why ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel/AMD?
I'm afraid I am a bit of a NVIDIA fan, my last ATI card was the Radeon X800XT. I like NVIDIA for their support, always good drivers for current games.
My latest 4 CPUs where Intel all the way. They just rock.
8. Does your PC life up to you expectation ?
I'm very happy with my current rig, it plays all my favorite games at a 2560 x 1600 resolution, maximum settings. So yes I am very pleased !!!!!!!!!!

9. What's the best part of your rig?
MMhhhh, tough question because I like everything. But if I need to choose I would say my GTX 280 SLI setup. I love to have some graphic firepower
10. What sucks and should not have been bought?
Absolutely nothing. I love it just the way it runs now.

11. Did you modify anything ? cases/video cards/other? Did you do it
yourself? Walk us through it.
The only thing I "modded" was the side panel, I replaced the big 200 mm fan
with dust filter with plexiglass behind the mesh panel.
This way there is no dust inside, and I can see my lovely hardware and my airflow is still fine
The Guru3D Rig of the month September 2012 build comes from a Francis Vilaca. At 26 years of age he was able to build an amazing looking machine with the most wicked liquid cooling radiator you will have seen in a while.
Guru3D Rig of the Month - August 2012
This months build comes from a Mikkel Olsen. At 27 years of age Mikkel probably did not build the most beautiful game PC we have had submitted, but his room nearly is one huge PC, a freakish gaming please heaven for many of you. The guy has a lot going on in there as you are about to find out. Come to think of it, the guy should put up some Miami Vice signs in there to get that good old 80'ies feel to it :)
Guru3D Rig of the Month - July 2012
This months build comes from a guy with the nickname MybadOmen. To proof that PC enthusiasts can be found worldwide in all categories and ages we can proudly say that David Lane is a 40 year old guy. David has build an exemplary nice PC loaded with little things that trick the mind. Very little is not modified to be honest.
Guru3D Rig of the Month - June 2012
One person we have been following closely on his build-log is Eric Soeters from the Netherlands, and although his build still is not 100% finished, it's nearly there and just amazing. He has built the chassis from ground up including some very hard work. The end result is his new PC called the "Exo-S", we'll just leave the explanation and working to the man himself as the only thing that is left after you have seen this build is to clap your hands and yell bravo ...
