Guru3D Rig of the Month 2011 competition series

The winner of the months Rig of the Month will receive an OCZ Technology Z Series 1000W Modular PSU (80 plus Gold Certified) delivered for free at it's doorsteps as a nice incentive. These PSUs feature ultra-high efficiency of 90% and have achieved the 80+ Gold Certification. With a peak wattage of 1100W a single +12V rail (83A) design, the Z1000 doesnt put limits on your system the way competing PSUs do.

Each month here at Guru3D.com we feature one of you guys, your PC, your DIY project. It is quite honestly amazing how much detail and dedication you put into an PC, and every now and then it really shows. This months entry oozes in style yet remains a minimalist build. For 2011 we upped the prize that you can win a little.

The DIY build of march 2011 is just simple and nice, meet Ant Cook aka Outrance, who works as System Administrator. He has an awesome PC build, very nice. We a selection of some quality components he started building his all liquid cooled RIG. A top notch build, worthy of being Guru3D's Rig of the Month March 2011.

Meet the Guru3D rig of the month winner:

1. What is your name / nickname /age / occupation?

Ant Cook, forum name: outrance, 30 years old and I work as a Systems Admin for a local research institute. The center actually has a NVIDIA Tesla installation running 200 GPUs, which is pretty cool (although I don't actually work in that part of the institute).

2. What did you first come here for?

I first came here back in 2005 in search of the latest beta drivers for my NVIDIA GPU. Also to check out the latest builds of Rivatuner. Then there were the articles, forums, news and eventually one of my favorites, the Vault of Fail

3. What do you mainly use the system for?

I'd like to say music production, but that has taken a back seat to gaming lately. But my PC must be fully capable of running the latest audio software, this is where 16Gbâs of RAM can get used up pretty quick. I really struggled with 4GB, having to constantly stream from disk and conserve RAM by freezing tracks. With my new build I don't have those restrictions.

Guru3D Rig of the Month - September 2012
The Guru3D Rig of the month September 2012 build comes from a Francis Vilaca. At 26 years of age he was able to build an amazing looking machine with the most wicked liquid cooling radiator you will have seen in a while.

This months build comes from a Mikkel Olsen. At 27 years of age Mikkel probably did not build the most beautiful game PC we have had submitted, but his room nearly is one huge PC, a freakish gaming please heaven for many of you. The guy has a lot going on in there as you are about to find out. Come to think of it, the guy should put up some Miami Vice signs in there to get that good old 80'ies feel to it :)

This months build comes from a guy with the nickname MybadOmen. To proof that PC enthusiasts can be found worldwide in all categories and ages we can proudly say that David Lane is a 40 year old guy. David has build an exemplary nice PC loaded with little things that trick the mind. Very little is not modified to be honest.

One person we have been following closely on his build-log is Eric Soeters from the Netherlands, and although his build still is not 100% finished, it's nearly there and just amazing. He has built the chassis from ground up including some very hard work. The end result is his new PC called the "Exo-S", we'll just leave the explanation and working to the man himself as the only thing that is left after you have seen this build is to clap your hands and yell bravo ...
