4. How much money did you spend on the rig as it is right now?
It is very hard to suspect how much I have put into my rig because I upgrade 1 piece at a time, adding a little here and there to my computer every few months or so. I estimate I have spent approximately $1700 on it.

5. How often do you update/buy a new rig?

I update my rig on a average every 3 months. The most upgraded part in my computer are my GPU's.

6. What components are used?

  • Intel Core 2 Xtreme X6800 @3.6ghz
  • 4gb of Kingston HyperX T1 ddr2-1066 pc2-8500
  • Evga 780i SLI motherboard
  • Corsair HX1000W PSU
  • Silverstone Raven Case
  • 3x BFG 8800 GTX OC's
  • WD 300gb Velociraptor and WD Caviar Green 750gb SATA HDD
  • Coolit Domino ALC CPU water cooler
  • LG blu ray and HD drive

7. Why ATI or NVIDIA, why Intel/AMD?

I am an NVIDIA fan all the way. I will only buy NVIDIA GPU's. Mainly because i just started out with them in the beginning. But also because they have the CUDA and Physx options as well. They seem to always have the more powerful cards on the market over ATI.

I choose Intel, mainly just because their CPU's overclock higher than AMD's. If AMD ever comes out with a CPU that beats one of Intel's high end chips i may give that CPU a shot.

8. Does your PC life up to you expectation ?

Yes my computer mainly lives up to my expectation. Although the graphics power is lacking in a few games, such as Crysis but that's about it.

9. What's the best part of your rig?

I would think that the best part about my rig is either my CPU or my case. I think my case is quite unique and not too many people have it. Also the X6800 CPU is quite pricey, I mean who the heck would have a $1200 CAD dual core CPU in their rig?
