Gigabyte Odin PLUS 700W PSU review -
Introduction

Over the past few years we've seen a lot of companies jump on the power supply bandwagon. Margins are good, there was a lot of innovation going on and as such, it makes an interesting product to sell for pretty much any hardware vendor these days,
Today we'll have a look at Gigabyte's Odin series of power supplies. I remember a year or two ago we tested their 800Watt Odin GT, an absolutely interesting product as it stood out from the competition, allowing you to monitor (by software in windows) wattages, voltages etc etc .. very enthusiast oriented stuff for the avid Guru3D.com reader.
Of course it can't be all about high-end as the mainstream market is where the serious dough is to be found. Along these lines Gigabyte came up with a down to earth Odin model. Back to basics. A nice design PSU, nothing modular, big LED switchable 120mm fan and high efficiency. All that in several wattage flavors.
Today we'll look at such a power supply, yet an updated version, the new PLUS model. Being Guru3D we did opt the higher wattage model. It's called the Odin Plus 700 Watt power supply. A fairly standard power supply, yet with some extra horsepower, should you need it. Advertised as a SLI ready and certified product that comes with a 80+ Bronze certification for it's efficiency.
What's special is that Gigabyte designed their own board layout, four 12 volts rails, uses solid capacitors to market it in their ultra durable product segment and as such hope to bring you a nice and long lasting product.
Let's go check it out.
