With the X370 board Gigabyte releases a high-end class product, it has plenty enough features to keep you busy for a while. Ryzen has 24 of them yet 4 are being used to interface with the chipset. Then depending on the chipset used it adds gen 2.0 PCIe lanes through the chipset. But yes, the Ryzen processor has it's own 16 PCIe Gen 3 lanes available for your graphics solution. The Gaming 5 has been fitted with LED RGB FUSION available, all was kept subtle and can be configured on/off/animated and RGB colored. The primary graphics slots as well as the the DIMM slots have metal shielding.

  1. 1 x PS/2 keyboard/mouse port
  2. 1 x HDMI port
  3. 1 x USB Type-C™port, with USB 3.1 Gen 2 support
  4. 3 x USB 3.1 Gen 2 Type-A ports (red)
  5. 6 x USB 3.1 Gen 1 ports
  6. 2 x RJ-45 ports
  7. 1 x optical S/PDIF Out connector
  8. 5 x audio jacks (Center/Subwoofer Speaker Out, Rear Speaker Out, Line In, Line Out, Mic In)
The I/O back panel reveals 3.1/3.0/2.0 ports. The audio unit has special noise reducing capacitors and shielding on top of that Realtek 1220 chip  (actually it has two of them). You will spot two 10/100/1000 Gigabit Ethernet jacks. Included is a PS/2 keyboard/mouse combo port. Included are optical S/PDIF out port and five gold plated audio jacks. Included with the motherboard are the regulars including; manuals, driver CDs, SATA cables and a rear I/O plate. What this motherboard misses however is WIFI, a bit of a miss if you ask me.

The pins going through the CPU cocket are for liquid cooling as I want to tweak the Ryzen 7 1700 towards 4100 Mhz today, obviously that is not standard!

The board has 3 x PCIe 3.0 x16 slots which can be arranged in these slot configurations with graphics cards:

  • 1-way mode - x16 / x0 / x0
  • 2-way mode - x8 / x8 / x0
  • 3-way mode - x8 / x8 / x4

As you can see, the primary two x16 slots are PCI Express Gen 3.0 configurations, that's plenty for regular graphics card setups up-to 2-way SLI/Crossfire. The motherboard comes with an 8-pin power connector. You'll get four DIMM slots that can be used for up-to 64GB of dual-channel memory. Up-to 3200 MHz supported in OC mode. Please do check compatible Memory and thus the QVL (Qualified Vendors Lists).
