The mouse is based on an 8,400 DPI sensor and comes with eight (macro) programmable positions. As mentioned the MX780 is primarily single-textured with a soft plastic/rubber feel at the thumb rests. Not at all uncomfortable, and it won't get slippery when wet or sweaty in your warm hand during an intense gaming session. The mouse itself has an ergonomic design and feels okay in my hands, but I do have large hands so for some it might feel a bit bulky and curvy on the right side (pinky). BTW, if you are a left-handed person, you can use this mouse as well!

On top, the scroll wheel which can be clicked as well (programmable). The one button below the scroll-wheel is the select-able DPI switch with several programmable gradations. You can have a DPI selection of you liking, configurable through the software suite. All switches, by the way, are Omron switches, very sensitive and very durable, rated at 50 million clicks. Heck no, I'm not testing the number though!

We see some nice glide skirts at the bottom, what seems to be PTFE feet provide good movement of the mouse. Nice quality with an aluminum base. The 8K DPI sensor (Avago) is marked in the dead center of both the horizontal and vertical, which brings a very small learning curve for those who take advantage of high sensitivity and subtle mouse movements rather than your normal linear sweeps.

The USB cable is roughly 2 meters, cloth braided. And as you can see, with the help of the included tool, you can lift up/down the palm rest.

Each side of the mouse can also be fitted with a 4.5 Gram weight. Two of these are included.
