Here we can see the innards a bit better. The Node 605 accommodates up to four hard drives (2.5"/3.5"). Internals then. First impression, that's a nice amount of space to work in but it offers surprizingly innovative features that allow you to install quite a bit. 

So do you see the two white compartiments? These are in fact drive bays that can hold two HDDs each. The Node 605 accommodates up to four hard drives. These mounting brackets can removed. Above we removed one of them. You place the HDD or SSD onto it and secure it with four screws at the backside of the storage unit. 

The HDD rests on rubber mounts so again noises resonating should not be an issue. Just mount the unit back and secure it. Overall this method works really well. 

We zoom in at the left front corner a bit, you can see one of the two Front mounted Silent Series R2 hydraulic bearing fans. These are rated 1300 RPM speed. Again these can be PWM RPM controlled with the help of the fan controller.
