Control and monitor Software
This is an upcoming trend we'll see more and more. New with the PSU is embedded monitoring as well, do you guys remember ESA that we have seen years ago from NVIDIA. It's the same but more advanced though. EVGA's SuperNOVA software allows you to monitor and control the PSU.
You put the PSU under your control by connecting it directly to a USB header on your motherboard with the included cable. After installing free to download software you may monitoring efficiency, temperatures, control the fan RPM a large range of variables really.
You can monitor power input and output, efficiency, fan speed, and internal temperature, directly from the Windows based application.
Or alternatively set up and modify the voltage rails, or even select from virtual single rail or multi-rail software modes and put the power supply in overclock mode which brings it to a whopping 1650 Watt.
The software shows power-in, power-out, and the actual voltage level on all rails and connectors in real-time in a configurable fashion. It also uses the power-in/out data to calculate efficiency in real-time as an option.
To software is totally geeky, but I certainly seem to like it. I can imagine pro overclockers using the software quite a bit.
