Final Words & Conclusion

Final words and conclusion

Working with hardware within the Mini ITX form factor is wonderful stuff really  ..

Now we used merely a AMD E350 APU integrated motherboard solution, but obviously there are ITX motherboards avaialble that support Core i5 3570 processors as well. Add a dedicated graphics card and at least one active fan and with very little work you'll have a very potent PC that will run all of today's applications and can play games massively as well. With it's hidden storage capability you can house two HDDs and/or and SSD as well.

Design

Now ranted, the Mini Cube is not a tool free design we are used to and find common these days, but really that's my only nag today. That black aluminum finish gives the product  niche, and one thing is a sure fact -- the chassis is a looker and the center of attention with its incredible small size. Small size or not,  convenient from a hardware editors point of view, the mainboard access is great, not blocking HDD cages and such and that makes it a handy to work with product, but less handy for installation due to the tool-less design of course. But swapping out a lengthy graphics card (up-to 280mm) really is no issue. Combine these factors and you'll realize that the Cube Mini would functions very well for a HTPC, office or even a gaming rig.

Taste and design are complex things though, love it hate there's probably nothing in-between. The looks are terrific as far as I am concerned, and build quality wise I have nothing to complain about either. Now I still have to see a pricing level on this chassis, so i can't really comment on that. But that said, the Mini Cube series is a very innovative solution. The Mini Cube series is versatile but also feature rich, everything is well though through and even your front-panel IO allows USB 3.0 connectivity, something a lot of other chassis manufacturers can learn a thing or two about.

Concluding

guru3d-recommended_150px.jpgCombine the looks and the innovative storage solution and you'll realise that is is a unique solution, probably not cheap though due to the Aluminum design. You can discuss whether or not is was wise to leave out at least one active fan, then again ... it's easy to pop one in yourself. So if this is your cup of tea you should definitely go for it. We certainly liked it. If you need a small form factor slash compact PC and design seriously matters to you, then we can wholeheartedly recommend it.
