Specification and Unboxing

So we have been reviewing Corsair headsets ever since the beginning, and yeah I'll state this again; the Corsair HS1 was a nice start, great design, comfortable, and it sounded good. Of course there was room for improvement, but not much, actually the HS1 is still a great pair of headphones. Corsair, of course, didn't rest on their wonder, they added more headsets, all under the Vengeance brand, the 1500, 1300, and the 1100. Something missing was a wireless version, hence the 2000 was released. Now the 2100 will replace the 2000 series.

The Vengeance 2100 comes in a suitable cardboard box, with a window on the side so you can see the coolness contained within. Never mind the picture of it on the box:

The Vengeance 2000 and 2100 are extremely close to each other in terms of audio features. Probably the most important specification in there is the fact that the headset is totally wireless, up to a good range as well; we reached 10 meters easily in our WIFI cluttered office. The difference in between the 2000 and 2100 models is NIL except for 7.1 Dolby and the all dark design. And though the Vengeance 2100 will work without it, it does come with a driver e.g. software suite to enable the surround mode and a nice selection of EQ, but we'll get into that later.

Included in the packaging you can find the Corsair Vengeance 2100 wireless gaming headset, dongle (wireless USB adapter), 1.5m USB extension cable, 1.5m USB charging cable, quick start guide, safety leaflet and warranty card (you get two years warranty).

The Vengeance 2100 is not too heavy, but not light either at around 360g. You'll have to download the drivers for the Vengeance 2000 off of Corsairs site. The drivers are also good for the HS1, 1100, 1500, 2000 and 2100 in case youre wondering. Mind you, the headphones actually work without drivers installed (tested on Windows 7) yet for the niche EQ and Surround functionality you'll need to download and install them. The latest release driver is 2.0.16 (as tested), yet there also is a 2.0.19 Beta driver that adds Windows 8.1 support.
