Final Words & Conclusion

Conclusion

Whether you really need a premium headset stand is a personal preference, of course. With the release of the ST100 RGB, Corsair offers an eye-candy product that goes way beyond being a headset rest. The nice aluminum base and stand ensure a sturdy mount even for a heavy headset, and a rubber coated bottom sits solidly on your table or desktop. The extra candy is to be found hidden in the base of the ST100 RGB, a fully functional 7.1 virtual surround audio card which can be useful if you'd like to plug a wired headset to the stand. It's likely a bit of overkill, considering you probably bought a nice VOID PRO RGB headset to pair things, but sure, handy.

With two USB 3.1 ports, you have an easy access HUB as well, handy for a USB flash drive or whatever you like to connect to it. The ST100 obviously is all about functionality and aesthetics, ergo the RGB lighting is a primary feature of the set. You might find this a simple stand, but we guarantee you, this thing looks pretty cool on your desktop.

Everything RGB LED lit from base to the Corsair is configurable through the CUE software. In the above video, I wanted to show you a quick overview, the mouse pointer did not record so hang in there with me. Combined with all other Corsair peripherals or the dandy RGB memory from Corsair you can sync it all including that ST100 RGB.

Future ideas?

I was thinking about it as something was nagging me, such a versatile device on your desktop, what could be done to it to improve it? Well, my idea here would be wireless charging. Perhaps in the future, we'll see some sort of wireless charging of the headphone being implemented. Also, and this is just an idea if the base would have been a notch bigger, how about including a Qi charger in there, for your smartphone :)

Conclusion

I can write a page long conclusion, the ST100, however, is what it is, fun, versatile and ridiculously diverse for a headset stand. Let's face it, the name headset stand really doesn't do it any justice. But is that alright, for a headset stand, a 59 USD price tag might seem steep, but remember, RGB, included USB soundcard, easy access USB HUB with two ports, an aluminum finish and the sheer functionality of being a headset stand certainly make it something very unique, it's the Swiss-knife of the headset stands and really stands out. So yeah, it is worth that money if you ask me. Recommended for sure.
