As always, the packaging, everything is packaged, cushioned and bundled safely in the box. Let's rip 'er open though.

Once unboxed you'll spot the liquid cooling unit consisting out of the radiator, fan, tubing, pump/cooling block. Most pre-fitted and ready to use of course. Basically you will need to install and secure a mount and a bracket to secure the unit. But you know what, you are visiting Guru3D.com, so we'll show you that all over the next few pages.

You'll spot a back plate that supports a wide variety of CPU sockets. AMD: AM2, AM3, FM1, FM2, Intel LGA: 115X, 1366 based processors can be used in combination with this cooler.

So summed up, once unboxed you'll spot the cooling unit consisting of the radiator assembly, fan and brackets + back plate that support a very wide range of AMD and Intel processors. A little thermal paste is pre-applied on the cooler for you.

Here we have the unit, we'll need to mount the unit towards three standoffs that are mounted on a mounting clip. The fan and pump are wired onto the motherboard FAN header connectors and are controlled from a RPM/PWM controlled with your motherboard BIOS. The unit is relatively easy to install and just 84mm tall, the H5 SF is compact enough to fit inside a small PC case. The cooling performance is pretty good, rated at up to 150W of heat dissipation which is enough for even high-end Core i7 processor with a little overclocking headroom as optional extra.
