Audio (Music)

Once you've balanced out the EQ setting with your own soundcard or embedded sound-solution on your motherboard you'll notice that the HS50 can pump out some strong yet dynamic sounding bass, clear voices and an overall excellent sound reproduction. For our regular test listening suite: we start up Triggerfinger with a cover from Lykke Li's I Follow Rivers. The drummer in this band uses a bass-drum in which a hobbit could reside, comfortably even. No seriously, hobbits could live in there. It is an acoustic live session. The treble range has razer sharp compared to earlier previous models and there is less hiss, no noise. Even considering this is a Youtube recording with fairly poor conversion bit-rate.

BTW hint also -- listen to Cherry at 4:31 (if you are in a funky rock mood). The stereo image is clean and easy to listen to. It has a nice audible musical spectrum loaded with detailed sound really. With the settings above (perhaps a hint more bass and treble according to your personal flavor). We hear that dynamic sounding bass, clear voices and very nice treble levels.

The second song is lay me Down from Avicii. You can drift away in the funky rhythm, impressive voices, the headset delivers enough but does not manage to impress. The funky guitar starts a little flat at the beginning. We hear pretty clear sounding drums, a snazzy bass-drum and a clear sounding keyboard solo tops it off.

Once you've balanced out your preferred tweaks but perhaps even left it as a default preference then the outs pretty nice sharp yet dynamic bass, clear voices and an overall funky sounding sound reproduction. Very enjoyable, much like most Corsair headsets these days.

Ahw yea .. Missy Elliot ft Ciara & Fatman Scoop, Lose Control. What can I say, whenever I hear this song I get that uplifted and energetic feel. Missy sounds just like we need her to sound with a nice phat beat complementing the rhymes. Ehm , bass feels a tiny bit flat, other than that, nice tunes all around that audio spectrum.

Let's go
Yeah yeah yeah
Yeah yeah yeah
Here we go now
Here we go now
Here we go now
Here we go now
Watch out now
Music make u lose control ...

For the final song, we travel back to the future, the year 1998. Timeless -  as always, we pay our respects to Adam MCA Yauch. We actually loaded up a FLAC of the Beastie Boys, as the youtube bitrate is a bit of an insult - Three MC's And One DJ. Here you will need to tweak a bit, the HS50 is a little sharp sounding at defaults. After having tuned the audio levels to our preference, and Three MC's And One DJ sounds great. In the video, you can skip to 1:46 and the song starts (if ya wanna skip da intro).
