The mouse is based on a optical sensor from Pixart and has 17 (macro) programmable positions. The mouse is overall single-textured with a soft plastic feel to the top of it with to its right arubberized and rugged insert. The housing is plastic with a metal element. Not at all uncomfortable, maybe a bit slippery on the top side. Otherwise the rest has a nice grip. The mouse itself has an ergonomic design and feels very okay in my hands,  I do have large hands. The Scimitar is a righty... if you are a left handed person, then this is not the mouse for you.

 
On the lower top side you can see the Corsair logo. It as well can be RGB lit, the mouse has four RGB lit zones that can be configured independantly from each other. To the upper right you can see the rubberized and rugged grip for your ring finger and pinky to rest. 
  

 
We see four Teflon glide skirts at the bottom. Several PTFE feet provide good movement of the mouse. The sensor is marked in the dead centre of both the horizontal and vertical, which brings a very small learning curve for those who take advantage of high sensitivity and subtle mouse movements rather than your normal linear sweeps.

 
With measurements of 114(L) x 83(W) x 32(H) mm the mouse isn't very large, neither is it small. See that screws-driver inserted? You can relocated the thumb buttons to match a position with what you find comfortable.
