Final Words & Conclusion

Concluding

Based on a mainstream CWT infrastucture the Corsair CX600M PSU really is a nice product for the money. We can't detect any flaws, high noises or voltage peaks/dips, even when it is close to full load. That proofs that budget PSUs these days can be pretty interesting. You do need to stick to brands you know to have a good reputation with PSUs, and that certainly counts for Corsair. The CX600M is a simple yet versatile PSU. Admittedly with our testing methods this review is a little subjective, however we do have a Chroma test report of the PSU available right here, should you want to dive into load testing. But reviews on Guru3D should be considered a deep product overview with additional subjective tests. For what it is, a 60 EUR PSU, the innards are impressive, the voltage rails are very stable, you get one big 12V rail, a small variety of connectors with up-to two PCIe Express graphics connectors which is modular with nice all black cabling and connectors. The product hardly makes a sound and is reasonably efficient at 80 Plus Bronze.

The Basic Experience

We obviously had no issues whatsoever with what we threw at it and we reached roughly 500 Watt which is 20% from its theoretical maximum capacity. While passing 450 Watt load we do can confirm that the power efficiency is remains very good  as it performed smack down where it needs to be in-between other bronze tested models. Again, stability wise we have very little to complain about but again. We'll trust that some other reviews will show some ripple tests yet have no doubt the product will come out totally clean. Lovely is obviously the one massive single +12V rail, it has just so much power to handle multiple heavy duty graphics cards. I mean 46 AMPs - one graphics card uses 15A x 12V = 180W on average these days -- you do the math. We do recommend you to stick to one graphics cards with this PSU, but that can be a high-end one.

The Money

At a pricing level of roughly 60 EUR for the PSU as tested today we feel it really is a good deal. It is all about choices though, and that makes this a relative explanation and recommendation. This CX series remains to be more of an entry level and budget product, but if you want pure quality then Corsair has a nice AX series available which is amongst the best quality you can find in a PSU with higher efficiency levels, greater looks, greater connectivity but also at a similar bigger pricetag. But for 60 bucks, honestly you can't complain. Nice to see is that you receive 3 years of warranty with this product as well.

The Aesthetics

The looks and feel then. Okay i should rephrase that, I'm not gonna tell ya how it feels :) The CX600M is a great product to have inside any PC with its dark and green logo design. The PSU will fit almost any chassis as well with its small length of 140mm, but always make sure you have the right chassis for that space wise. The cables are done right in a dark black coating. Good to see is that the connectors themselves are all black as well. The added benefit obviously is very clean looking wiring for that ultimate finish. Modular designs are the way to go. You use what you need in terms of wiring, keeping the innards clean and tidy, plain and simple. A nice extra touch is the flat cable used for the CPU power cabled, that's going to look great and makes is easier to handle when you are getting your cable routing freak-on, behind the motherboard tray. Overall the CX600M simply put is a great looking PSU.

Efficiency

Combined with the bronze factor -- the certified model at 85% efficiency at 50% load -- that makes the PSU average in terms of modern day efficiency. Our tests show that the PSU positions itself where it needs to be be. Remember though that the best efficiency of a PSU is always at 50% load. But even with your PC in IDLE you are looking at 82~84% efficiency.

Final Words

The CX600M has budget written all over it, budget in this casde however isn't a negative thing. After testing it quite extensively we really do get the feeling that it is a good power supply. Next to that for the money it's rather good looking with its all dark cables and connectors as well. We did not notice any issues in terms of voltage dips or weirdness, overall it simply is a good PSU for the money. At 60 bucks this is hard to beat. It's of course a crowded market with quality and efficiency levels being bumped up with each year that passes. But this PSU definitely is a winner in terms of price versus quality versus features versus looks. The one remark really are just two PCie graphics connectors. But that's all I can think of. It doesn't cost a small fortune, and you get three years warranty. Yup - Recommended by Guru3D.com
