18 - Multi GPU Overclocked Core i7 vs GPU performance (2)

Far Cry 2

Far Cry 2 is also pretty darn happy with the processor. We spot a very slight increase at 10x7... but honestly if you play this game at that resolution with this setup... you'd be a dick. 1920x1200 bro, and nothing less.

F.E.A.R.

F.E.A.R. also shows it's pretty happy with performance, as it was already GPU bound. Would you just look at 1024x768 for a second and think about the average framerate of 426 frames per second for just a little while, let it sink in for a moment man.

3DMark Vantage

Ahhh, 3DMark Vantage, it always likes faster CPUs in the standard P mode, we gain nearly a thousand points on the fly for the GPU and the overall P score rises nearly 1500 points instantly.

Though Vantage might not be the most visually pleasing experience we expected, it's actually a very precise, good and worthy benchmark.

Crysis Warhead

Last but not least, and again: please ignore 2560x1600 due to reasons explained, but Crysis Warhead also seems pretty dandy with the processor at 3.2 GHz, but with our settings and time demo, we made the test extremely GPU dependant, and thus less CPU dependant. A true feast for the eyes though.
