Okay we'll dive straight into the photo-shoot. As always we start off with packaging. The chassis is packaged well and comes protected in Styrofoam and plastic.
Once unpacked there where no scratched noticeable whatsoever. First impressions, I like it. A fairly standard non-intrusive design yet the chassis has so much to offer in terms of features.
Once unleashed from the packaging there's the chassis. The Silencio has a stylish matte black design. The font bezel is metal and comes with that matte black finish, opposed to the 550 with a very glossy mirror. The material used here is diamond cut aluminum, a very expensive process. It does give the chassis a grandeur look. The 650 is a mid sized tower chassis, 207 x 479 x 525 mm or 8.1 x 18.8 x 20.7 inch (W x H x D).
The chassis itself is very sturdy.
Let's have a look at the top cover first. Interesting as everything about this chassis is covered in some sort of form or way to prevent noises and preserve the cool looks. See that latch ? Let's move it backwards.
Once we slide back the latch we can find the front panel connectors, USB 3.0 x 2, USB 2.0 x 2, Mic x1, Audio x 1, SD card reader x 1 Also the power on button is located here. The card reader is a nice touch though and we really do like the fact that the 650 has gotten more USB ports.
The middle button to the right is a fan controller, the middle button or switch to the left is in fact a dual-boot switch. Very innovative. Basically you can switch in-between two operating systems that way (you'll switch in-between two HDDs). All the way in the middle, an SD card reader -- lovin' it.
