Specifications and Features

Alright, first let's walk though the standard snippet on the HAF-X.  HAF X undoubtedly has a military style with it's rugged exterior design that starts at the top and wraps around to the bottom. Loaded with features, which we'll discuss in a minute, the MSRP on the HAF X is $199.99

At that price it places the HAF X in direct price competition with the Antec P193, Thermaltake's Xaser VI, Lian Li Armorsuit PC-P50R (that actually is a mid tower), and some others. HAF X is, oddly enough, cheaper than the Cooler Master Storm Sniper Black on Newegg by roughly $20 but also cheaper than Corsairs Obsidian D800 yet outclassing the D700.

A more prominent feature is that the main difference to the previous HAF 932 is more space for graphics cards. As such the HAF X supports massive nine expansion slots, allowing even quad SLI or a quad CrossFire setups if your motherboard and wallet can handle it.

All the modern features you wish are there, but added as well is USB 3.0 support and two hot swappable HDD bays located at the front of the PC, and before you ask yes -- these bays are pre-equipped to handle and mount 2.5" SSDs as well.

So price and functionality wise Cooler Master certainly is hitting a sweet spot. Let's have a look at some of the advertised features.

Features:

  • Two SATA docks for easy installation without the need of removing side panel
  • USB 3.0 on front I/O panel
  • Air Duct to cool the latest graphic cards
  • Up to 1 x 230mm red LED and 3 x 200mm fans
  • 9 slots support triple VGA cards
  • Adjustable VGA card holder to support heavier GPU cards
  • Power supply partition to conceal cables
  • Advanced cable management with rubber grommets
  • Spacious interior for larger components parts
  • Rugged black coated interior

Extreme Airflow: Simply CoolerHAF X provides powerful airflow with the help of massive-sized fans: dual 200mm top fans, front 230mm red LED on/off fan provide system cooling and airflow for the entire system. An additional 200mm fan with dedicated air duct has also been added for VGA cooling.

Effortless Installation & Management: Simply Better
A unique feature of the HAF X is that users can easily swap hard drives with the new SATA dock without the need of removing the side panel. Other notable mentions include tool-free design, refined cable management system (including a power cable cover), safety on/off button cover and a bottom-mount power supply.

Upgradeability
Expansion for demanding graphic cards is not a problem with the nine expansion slots, spacious interior for extra long boards (i.e. ATI Radeon HD 5970) and even an adjustable VGA card holder for added sturdiness.
