Cooler Master CM Storm Trigger review

It's an all first that we'll be reviewing a mechanical keyboard from Cooler Master, an interesting move for CM alright as their user base is smack down in the middle of gamers. As such it makes a lot of sense to release a gaming series of keyboards. problem is that whenever the first series is released .. it can disappoint a s a lot of features and functionally in that first wave often is forgotten. It is with pleasure that I can tell you that the Trigger keyboard we are testing today has to be one of the finest keyboards I've ever worked with.

The Trigger as released under the CM Storm branding comes with a lot of features that should be appealing to you as a gamer. For example18K gold-plated ultra-low latency USB connectors, two integrated USB 2.0 ports through a HUB. The Trigger is also a mechanical keyboard, as such is has been equipped with Cherry Black switches. These keys have a long-lived, can withstand a good beating, the stuff you as a gamer like so much.

We have seen it on several keyboard before already, but the Trigger is equipped with anti-ghosting capability which means multi-key presses at the same time are an option, again something gamers are after. You can press op to six keys at the without the keyboard input coming towards a grinding halt.

The overall design if the Trigger is appealing as well as it comes with a nice black dark design with rubberized coating and thus feel. As weird as it may sound, the keyboard feels extremely comfortable at your hands. Design wise the forms and shapes seem a little bland, however that's until the keys light up with red LED backlighting. the LED backlights can highlight all the keys at once or just the WASD buttons. There is also an option to have the keys fade in an out in brightness, but seriously .. it made me nauseous.

The Trigger also is delivered with a detachable wrist rest, again with non-slip rubber coating. Obviously the keyboard is programmable as we'll show you later in in the article. The keyboard has onboard memory, a good 64 KB of it, you may program five macro keys with it.
