Computex 2009 Day 2 - The Nangang resurrection

So we are continuing where we left off with day 1 of Computex. Next stop is Patriot.

Patriot memory

Originally strong in the USA, but slowly expanding into the EU and ASIA markets is Patriot. Patriot works with a very recognizable philosophy, very decent products, that look great... yet remain affordable. These three things make Patriot great. They are expanding their product line-up rapidly though, as originally being a memory manufacturer they now also produce SSD drives, diverse storage solutions, and introduced last week... even NAS storage units. At the Patriot booth I had an appointment with a man with the most interesting surname ever... Mr. Wakabayashi, and sure... try and say that 5 times fast ;) No puns intended though, let's have a look at some of Patriot's finest offerings.

Computex 2009 - Day 1

Patriot memory announced 24 new products this week, so we'll run down a few of them. This is their 'G' Series of DRAM memory kits, coming in both DDR2 and DDR3 packages. As you might imagine, the G stands for gaming, which means that these solutions are designed to boost the performance of your desktop gaming rig.

Of course the Viper series already existed, but this has a new heat spreader and is spiffy 2000 MHz DDR3 memory.

NAS units are getting real popular real quickly. I guess everybody wants more bytes at their disposal. The Corza is a network attached storage device that gives the consumer the ability to turn their home computers into their own network. The Corza features the latest networking technology which allows users to stream digital media files, their favorite music and videos, pictures or important data; accessible from anywhere in the world with an internet connection.
Corza's dual hot-swap design accommodates 2x2TB hard drives or up to 4TB total network storage with built in RAID 0, 1, and JBOD controller. Supporting 10/100/1000 gigabit Ethernet, consumers can stream up to 3 HD quality movies simultaneously with perfect video and sound. The FTP support feature allows users to remotely share files with family and friends from anywhere there is an internet connection. The product is going to be fairly cheap and affordable at roughly 150 USD only.
