On the mainboards side check this out, the 890FXA-GF70.  The baord has the new SB850 Southbridge with integrated SATA 6Gbps, as well as supporting the soon-to-be-released six-core Phenom II X6 chip that's currently known as Thuban. The GD70 packs features like USB 3.0, five physical  x16 PCIe, a single PCIe x1 and a conventional PCI slot. You'll spot DrMOS, OC Genie, and APS technologies, too.

Very sexy this one, I actually look forward to testing this. It is the X58 based MSI XPower. The MSI Big Bang XPower motherboard is based on the Intel X58 Express + ICH10R chipset, and offers six PCI-Express x16 slots, which which it can support CrossFireX, SLI, and still have room for dedicated PhysX accelerators or other PCI-E devices.

The XPower features support for SATA 6 Gb/s and USB 3.0 The CPU is powered by a 16-phase DrMOS PWM. It makes use of High-C capacitors for higher durability. An additional 6-pin PCI-Express power input adds electrical stability to the PCI-Express x16 slots. The socket is wired to six DDR3 DIMM slots for triple-channel memory support, which are powered by a 3-phase VRM.

There are two gigabit Ethernet interfaces, two USB 3.0 and a number of USB 2.0 ports, and FireWire, along with two power eSATA ports. The ICH10R gives out six internal SATA 3 Gb/s ports, while an additional controller gives out two SATA 6 Gb/s ones.

Very VERY sexy ...

In an attempt to further explore the possibilities of Lucid's HYDRA MSI is going to release AMD 870 based motherboards with this extra chip. If you have no idea about what HYDRA is and does, please read our Fuzion motherboard review.

Due to the large amount of driver issues we are surprised to see MSI push through with this technology. At CEBIT MSI is showing a 870A-GD60 Hydra motherboard which apparently will not be much more expensive than the regular 870 motherboard.

The AM3 socket is powered by a 10-phase DrMOS based VRM. The CPU connects to four DDR3 DIMM slots for dual-channel memory. It connects to the AMD 870 northbridge over the HyperTransport 3.0 interface. Its lone PCI-E 2.0 x16 port is taken up by the Hydra Engine chip located between the two PCI-E 2.0 x16 slots. The board also supports USB 3.0 and SATA 6G. It is not yet known when this motherboard will retail.
