Asus: Part 1
Asus hade a huge booth at Blizzcon this year, hidden inside were also the Intel and Newegg reps. I was suprised to see Intel didn't have a booth like last year despite being a sponsor of Blizzcon, last year they had been showing off the soon be released Core i5's so this year I was hoping to see some Sandy Bridge. Sadly no, all they had were a pair of laptops to demo boot up differences between a hard drive and one of the Intel solid state drives. Come on Intel, you were even set up right next to Asus's overclocking section (the "ROG Experience Tour") , the perfect place to show off your up and coming processors to people who are sure to buy the latest CPU's!
I was thrilled to see Asus had set up several demos of their Asus Xonar Xense, which we previewed here. This was my first time hands (ears?) on and I was not disappointed.
Asus also had brought in several experienced overclockers for their ROG Experience Tour. On one side of the booth they had teams competing against one another for the highest overclock using water and exotic cooling.
On the other side these overclockers were teaching people how to overclock using Asus's RC TweakIt software installed on laptops connected to several systems (one air cooled, one water cooled and one exotic) so these beginners could test thier new overclocking skills and compete for prizes.
