Final Words & Conclusion

Final Words & Conclusion

I most certainly did enjoy the BitFenix Enso, it's a nice looking product. I do have to state though that the build quality overall is, well, a lot of plastic is used. And while that's not a bad thing, it shows? The panels and bezel also are not dark black due to the plastics used. But hey, that's nitpicking. The features are decent enough for a mid-tower chassis and I sure do love the tempered glass side panel which gives it that extra snazzy look. And yes, once powered up, the looks and design of the chassis certainly differ thanks to the included RGB LEDs and controller. For the money though, I have to say the chassis seems to be spot on.

With that said, we feel airflow is good enough but certainly not super, you should use the vented top cover. the space to work in fairly reasonable and features like the SSD/HDD space, ease of use and USB 3.0 ports are all available as well. Lacking, however, is an integrated fan controller but added was that RGB controller lighting solution. My main gripe would be the small PSU space, but other than that I really need to stop complaining.

Aesthetics

The looks then; I do like the Enso very much, but taste differs per person, and yes, it needs to be powered on to show its magic. One thing you will however need is an extra LED RGB strip on the inside as we did, that will make overall chassis look much better. Then again, most motherboards are RGB lit these days as well, so in that case, this remark already becomes irrelevant. Should you add an RGB strip, you can conveniently connect it to the RGB controller located on the backside. You can't argue against taste as it is the most subjective thing and does not make the job of a reviewer any easier. If I may nitpick, my main quirk remains to be the all-plastic bezel, aluminum would have been so much nicer, then again I do like the fair price of this unit as well. Choices, choices. Overall this is a well thought through product with okay cooling, dust filters, USB 3.0 integration and a relatively tool free design. The glass side panel with door functionality is lovely and gives it its final finished looks.

Features

The internals are pretty decent, normal ATX form factor motherboards, the more lengthy graphics card will fit as well. There's also space for liquid cooling, albeit this we feel is a bit limited. Most AIO solutions will fit though. There is sufficient storage for HDDs and SSDs. The chassis has a nice motherboard cutout and there's enough space left for cable routing through the grommet holes (rubberized), all in that all-black interior.

The Verdict

I think the BitFenix Enso is a nice addition to the mainstream, mid-range, mid-tower chassis space. It's a lot of "plastic fantastic" and certainly isn't perfect, but based on the price, tempered glass, RGB LEDs and included RGB controller this product stands out from the competition, big time. Style wise it might not be for everybody, but I do tend to think that many people will agree with me, this one is a beauty. This chassis comes at a price of only 89 USD and 85 EUR based on 19% VAT. Honestly, for what you are receiving I feel this is money well invested. The see-through design with the tempered glass side panel, with a bit of RGB bling, give it a terrific finish. Combine that with an all-dark interior and that lower compartment where you can hide your PSU, it certainly brings the clean looks to display the good stuff. It is a mid-tower chassis, radiators wise things are a little more limited. You have enough yet ample storage options alongside decent cable routing. Everything sits in the right place as well, aside from the HDD cage that narrows down the PSU area. But it's placed there for stability. The airflow is ok enough for a mainstream build, the air intake at the front bottom and exhaust at the back and top will take care of that. We do recommend you to actively use the top side vent (and never use the closed lid), this is trivial for your cooling needs. So yeah granted, airflow is a bit borderline though and could have been a lot better. At 50% fan RPM the chassis fans are not noisy either. Please do add some LED lights like we did at the top and then with the right components you will have a nice proper looking chassis. Certainly recommended and yeah, seriously great value for money.
