Synthetic benchmarking: Call Of Juarez DX10 Benchmark

This game benchmark which is just so delicious to look at, is using Shader Model 4 with DirectX 10, so the usage of Vista is mandatory. There's a huge mud-fight going on between Techland and NVIDIA, AA related. And I personally gave NVIDIA the benefit of the doubt here as the explanation from Techland was plain silly. Due to this we decided to continue using this test yet in all circumstanced we disabled AA. This takes the sting out of the equation and makes the software reliable to benchmark once again.

What a drama this benchmark is with mid-range graphics cards ...  ridiculous. Let's move on shall we ? Since this test demands 100% DX10 compatibility, I obviously could not include other DX9 cards.

If you own a DX10 graphics card and have Windows Vista installed then you can download the benchmark from our download section, located right here. Give it a try, it's pretty to look at.

Synthetic benchmarking: 3DMark 05 & 06 Business Edition

Literally millions and millions benchmark results have been submitted to Futuremarks Online ResultBrowser database. It has become a point of great prestige to be the holder of the highest 3DMark score. A compelling, easy-to-use interface has made 3DMark very popular among game enthusiasts. Futuremarks latest benchmark series, 3DMark03 up-to 3DMark06, continues this tradition by providing a Microsoft DirectX 9 benchmark.

The introduction of DirectX 9 and new hardware shader technologies puts a lot of power in the hands of game developers. Increasingly realistic 3D games will be available over the next year and a half. The use of 3D graphics will become more accessible to other applications areas and even operating systems.

The BFG 8600 OC2 pushed roughly 12.5k point for 3Dmark05 and in 3Dmark06 a nice 6000 points.
