Final thoughts and Verdict
Final thoughts and Verdict
The Xonar Xense 7.1 Bundle is a very well rounded audio product. The PC350s and Xense soundcard are tuned to achieve excellent sonic results. We had tested the PC350s a few years back when first released but we find the bundle produced a very different signature then the PC350s previously did.
This may be a result of the card tuning or there may be some tweaking done to the headphones themselves. The Xense does have some points that we were not too fond of. First, we would have preferred to have fully replaceable opamps on every channel for end user tuning.
We do have mixed feelings about the shielding on the card thinking it can be more of a detriment then a welcome addition to the overall design. We would have also liked to see an S/Pdif digital input on this card which allows much more flexibility in its usage.
Although designed and tuned for gaming, this card can really hold its own for music and movie enjoyment.
The card offered excellent sound quality with tight articulate bass, warm mids and crispy high range. The Xense bundle really gets you immersed in your task, no matter if you're shooting up the desert or auditioning the latest offerings of your favorite bands.
The Xonar team and Sennheiser guys really put some sonic magic into this bundle because this card produced excellent sound quality during our review. We feel this is really a case were the whole is more then the sum of the parts.
If you are looking for a synergistic audio bundle for gaming, music and movies then you should definitely give the Xonar Xense 7.1 bundle some serious consideration. This system provided excellent sound quality during our testing and we give this audio product our recommended Award.
Until next time, this is Robscix in the Guru3D Audio Lab rocking on to the Xonar Xense 7.1.
